John Herndon is author of seven books of poetry, most recently Proof that the World Is Real (2000) and Road Trip through the Four Spheres (1998), and editor of two poetry anthologies; and he has published poems, articles, essays and reviews in Exquisite Corpse, New Laurel Review, Wormwood Review, Sniper Logic, Skanky Possum, Acoustic Guitar, Gas, Houston Post, Texas Environment Magazine and many other journals, magazines and newspapers. He was producer and host at KUT-FM and KJFK-FM and book critic for the Austin American-Statesman, and is currently Adjunct Professor of Literature, Creative Writing and the Humanities at Austin Community College. He lives in Austin, Texas.

Paul Christensen is a poet and teacher at Texas A&M University, where he has taught courses in the history of poetry, the philosophy of literature, society and the writing arts, and workshops in creative writing. He was founder and host of the weekly arts program, Poetry Southwest, broadcast for 10 years on KAMU-FM, and syndicated throughout Texas and the Southwest. He is the editor/publisher of the alternative literary Cedarshouse Press, and a member of the Texas Institute of Letters. He conducts writing workshops in southern France during the summer and is a consulting writer to professionals involved in various literary and critical projects. Among his books are studies of the poets Charles Olson and Clayton Eshleman, and a memoir, West of the American Dream: An Encounter with Texas. He has published eight collections of poetry, and several textbooks.
